Failure Analysis

Failure analysis starts with understanding the problem. The first step is in depth review and discussion with the client. Following is thorough documentation of any materials and information received before deep diving into sample preparation and analysis. Each problem is different and will need tailored analysis. Typical techniques are fracture analysis with SEM-EDS, cross-sectional analysis, and hardness testing. Each step will be documented and presented in a final report with conclusions and recommendations.

Metallographic & Cross-Sectional Analysis

Metallographic evaluation and cross-sectional analysis aides in failure analysis, material processing analysis, and incoming inspection. Services include: base alloy analysis, heat treatment analysis, plating/coating evaluation, weld evaluation, thickness & radii measurements, etc.

SEM-EDS Analysis

SEM-EDS analysis offers a wide spectrum of materials analysis, including examination of fracture surfaces, coatings, and semi-quantitative chemical analysis. The high magnification capabilities provide dependable insights that enhance quality, performance, and compliance with industry standards
